Higgsfield alternatives: cheaper ways to reach the same models
Higgsfield is a hub that resells Seedance, Veo and Kling for monthly credits. For 5-second 720p Seedance 2.0, Runway's API costs $1.50 a clip (Runway, 26 Oct 2026). Pay per clip up to 32 clips a month, take Plus at 33, pay per clip again for 34 to 85, and take Ultra from 87 to 100.
Key facts
| Higgsfield Ultra (as of 2026-10-26) | $129 a month for 3,000 credits, $0.043 a credit; Plus is $49 for 1,000 credits[2] |
|---|---|
| Seedance 2.0, 5 s, 720p on Higgsfield | 30 credits, so $1.29 on Ultra (22 credits on 26 Oct 2026)[2] |
| Seedance 2.0 on Runway's API | $0.30 a second at 720p, $0.40 at 1080p, $1.50 at 4K; one credit is $0.01[1] |
| Kling 3.0 Standard on Runway's API | $0.09 a second silent, $0.13 with audio[1] |
| Veo 3.1 on Runway's API | $0.40 a second with audio, $0.15 for Veo 3.1 Fast with audio[1] |
| Higgsfield's own API | Pay per generation from a dollar balance, no subscription; failed requests are not charged[3] |
| Veo 3.1 preview models in the Gemini API | Shut down on 22 October 2026[4] |
Most lists of Higgsfield alternatives name ten other apps and stop. The cheaper move is often to reach the same Seedance, Kling or Veo model through a different route. This page prices that route clip by clip, using published rates dated 26 October 2026.
What are the best Higgsfield alternatives?
The alternatives fall into four routes: an API that resells the same models, another multi-model app, the model maker's own app, and Higgsfield's own pay-per-use API.
| Route | Example | Published pricing (26 Oct 2026) | Main limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reseller API | Runway API | Per-second rates for Seedance 2.0 and 2.5, Veo 3.1, Kling 3.0, plus ad and UGC recipes | Developer product |
| Higgsfield API | Higgsfield | Pay per generation, no subscription, failed requests not charged | Rates shown only as "starting" |
| Other multi-model app | Morphic | Seedance 2.5 and Wan 3.0; Basic $19 a month for 2,400 credits | No credit-to-clip conversion published |
| Model maker's app | Kling, Google, ByteDance | Priced on their own sites | One maker's models only |
Morphic's comparison page lists Basic at $19 a month for 2,400 credits. Blotato's list names Runway, Kling, Luma, Krea, Hedra and OpenArt, quotes about $1.11 per video on Higgsfield and discusses unused credits. This page adds the Runway API rates for the same clips and the monthly break-even counts.
Is it cheaper to use Kling, Seedance or Veo directly?
Sometimes. Runway's API is cheaper than Higgsfield Ultra for 1080p Seedance 2.0 and for Seedance 2.5 when you use all your credits, and dearer for 720p Seedance 2.0.
Runway resells these models, so its rate is a published reference price and not the model maker's own. The comparison below sets Higgsfield's credits against Runway's published API rates for the same model and setting.
| Clip | Higgsfield credits | Plus ($0.049) | Ultra ($0.043) | Runway API |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Seedance 2.0, 5 s, 720p | 30 | $1.47 | $1.29 | $1.50 |
| Seedance 2.0, 5 s, 1080p | 60 | $2.94 | $2.58 | $2.00 |
| Seedance 2.5, 5 s, 720p | 35 | $1.72 | $1.51 | $1.50 |
| Veo, 8 s, with audio, fast tier | 22 (Veo 3 Fast) | $1.08 | $0.95 | $1.20 (Veo 3.1 Fast) |
| Veo, 8 s, with audio, full tier | 58 (Veo 3) | $2.84 | $2.49 | $3.20 (Veo 3.1) |
| Kling 3.0 Standard, 8 s, with audio | not listed | n/a | n/a | $1.04 |
Credits are from Higgsfield's pricing guide of 24 October 2026. Dollar values multiply credits by the plan's cost per credit. The two Veo rows compare different versions, so they show scale and not parity. Higgsfield's guide gives no Kling clip cost. Runway's Kling 3.0 Pro with audio is $0.17 a second, or $1.36 for 8 seconds.
How many clips a month before Higgsfield beats paying per clip?
For 5-second 720p Seedance 2.0, Higgsfield Ultra beats Runway's API from 87 clips a month, and it never beats the API at 1080p.
The break-even is the monthly fee divided by the API price per clip. At $1.50 a clip, the monthly winner by volume is:
| Clips a month | Cheapest route | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| 1 to 32 | Runway API | $1.50 to $48 |
| 33 | Higgsfield Plus | $49 (1,000 credits cover 33 clips) |
| 34 to 85 | Runway API | $51 to $127.50 |
| 86 | Tie | $129 |
| 87 to 100 | Higgsfield Ultra | $129 (3,000 credits cover 100 clips, $1.29 each at the limit) |
One clip a day is about 30 clips a month, which is $45 on Runway and under both plans. Two settings change the answer:
- Ultra at 1080p: 3,000 credits cover 50 clips (3,000 divided by 60). Fifty clips on Runway cost $100, less than the $129 plan fee.
- Seedance 2.5 at 720p: Ultra covers 85 clips (3,000 divided by 35). Eighty-five clips on Runway cost $127.50, less than $129.
These counts assume one completed generation per clip, so count every retry as another clip. If you mix in images, Soul and other tools, subscription credits go further and the comparison shifts. Our AI video cost calculator prices your own mix. Unspent subscription credits reset at renewal, as our Higgsfield pricing guide explains.
Does Higgsfield have a cheaper pay-per-use option?
Yes. Higgsfield runs an API where you top up a dollar balance and each generation deducts a published rate, with no subscription.
Its September 2026 post says failed requests are not charged and that it offers more than 50 image and video models. It lists "starting rates" of $0.07 a second for Kling 2.6, $0.112 for Kling 3.0, $0.20 for Wan 3.0 and $0.9332 for Seedance 2.0. The post does not say which resolution or audio setting each rate covers, so these do not line up with Runway's per-setting rates. The Seedance 2.0 figure is more than twice Runway's 1080p rate of $0.40, so read the pricing page for your exact setting before choosing.
What do you lose by leaving Higgsfield?
You lose Higgsfield's visual tools. Its pricing guide lists a UGC ad builder, Marketing Studio, start and end frame control and a speaking-video tool, on Plus and Ultra.
A 10-second 720p UGC ad costs 70 credits on Higgsfield, about $3.01 on Ultra. Runway offers API recipes for the same job: its product_ugc recipe at 720p costs 192 credits for 4 seconds plus 36 per extra second, so 408 credits or $4.08 for 10 seconds. Runway also lists product_ad, product_swap, multi_shot_video and ad_localization. The recipes run through the API, so you trade Higgsfield's visual builders for code. If you need a clean clip from a prompt and an image, the tools matter little. If you make product ads at volume without developers, Higgsfield's builders can be worth more than the credit gap.
Which Higgsfield alternative fits which use case?
Pick by how many clips you make and whether you can call an API.
| Use case | Fits best | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 32 Seedance 2.0 clips a month at 720p | Pay-per-clip API | No fee to waste; credits reset at renewal |
| 33 clips at 720p | Higgsfield Plus | $49 beats $1.50 a clip |
| 34 to 85 clips at 720p | Pay-per-clip API | Under Ultra's $129 fee |
| 87 to 100 clips at 720p | Higgsfield Ultra | $129 flat, down to $1.29 a clip |
| 1080p Seedance | Pay-per-clip API | Runway $2.00 against Ultra $2.58 |
| Several models in one place, no code | Higgsfield or another multi-model app | Runway's API is for developers |
| Product ads and UGC without code | Higgsfield | Built-in ad builder, 70 credits for 10 s at 720p |
| Veo with audio | Match the version first | Higgsfield prices Veo 3, Runway Veo 3.1 |

Are there free Higgsfield alternatives?
The cheapest real entry points are Runway's API at $1.50 for a 5-second 720p Seedance 2.0 clip and Morphic's Basic plan at $19 a month. Free plans exist across the category, and each one sets its own limits, so check four things on its plan page: the model versions, the resolution cap, whether clips carry a watermark and whether commercial use is allowed.
Where the prices come from
Every price is a published rate read on 26 October 2026 from Runway's pricing docs, Higgsfield's pricing guide and Higgsfield's API post. Google's docs say the Veo 3.1 preview models in the Gemini API shut down on 22 October 2026, so preview prices no longer apply. Rates change often, so check the live page before you pay.
What changed
- 5 November 2026: Higgsfield's pricing guide now lists 5-second 720p Seedance 2.0 at 30 credits, up from 22. That clip costs $1.29 on Ultra instead of $0.95, so Plus now covers 33 clips instead of 45 and Ultra 100 instead of 136. The break-even points against Runway's API (33 clips for Plus, 87 for Ultra) did not move.
Questions
How to get Higgsfield cheaper?
Spend almost every credit each month, since subscription credits reset at renewal, or skip the subscription and pay per clip through an API. On Ultra, a 5-second 720p Seedance 2.0 clip is about $1.29 only if you use all 3,000 credits. Higgsfield also runs its own pay-per-generation API with no subscription.
Is there a free Higgsfield alternative?
The lowest-cost entries priced here are Runway's API at $1.50 for a 5-second 720p Seedance 2.0 clip and Morphic's Basic plan at $19 a month for 2,400 credits. Before you build on any free tier, read its plan page for model versions, resolution cap, watermark and commercial-use terms.
Are the models on Higgsfield the same as the ones I can reach directly?
Higgsfield and Runway both list Seedance, Veo and Kling, but each platform chooses its own versions, settings and limits. Higgsfield's pricing guide prices Veo 3 and Veo 3 Fast, while Runway lists Veo 3.1. Compare the exact version and resolution, not just the model name.
Is Runway's API a good Higgsfield alternative for non-developers?
It is cheaper per clip in several cases, but it is a developer product: credits are bought per project in Runway's developer portal and generations run through code or a tool that calls the API. Runway also offers API recipes for ads and UGC, so compare their workflow and price with Higgsfield's visual tools.
