Kling AI pricing explained: what one usable clip costs in 2026

Kling AI sells monthly credits: 660 on Standard ($8.80 a month after a $6.99 first month) up to 26,000 on Ultra ($159.99). A 10-second 1080p clip with audio costs 120 credits, or $1.60 on Standard. Ultra is cheapest per credit if you render often; otherwise stay on Standard.

Kling AI prices its plans in credits, not in clips. This page converts the plan prices and Kling's per-second credit rates into dollars per 5-second and 10-second clip, then adds what retries cost. Plan numbers are dated 26 October 2026.

What are Kling AI's pricing plans?

Kling AI has a free Basic plan and four paid plans: Standard, Pro, Premier and Ultra. Kling's own credit guide lists the monthly credits and the renewal prices.

Plan First month Renewal price Credits per month Cost per credit at renewal
Basic $0 $0 None listed n/a
Standard $6.99 $8.80 660 $0.0133
Pro $25.99 $32.56 3,000 $0.0109
Premier $64.99 $80.96 8,000 $0.0101
Ultra $127.99 $159.99 26,000 $0.0062

Kling's guide shows list prices of $10, $37, $92 and $180 struck through, and says the discounted first-month price applies to the first subscription only. Basic output is marked not for commercial use; paid plans include commercial use. Ultra gives about half the cost per credit of Standard. The other three plans sit between $0.010 and $0.013. Kling's terms also name an Ultra+ tier, a larger plan above Ultra, so check the membership page for its credits and price before you buy at that level.

If you need more credits in a month, Kling's policy sets the standard top-up rate at $1 for 66 credits, about $0.0152 per credit. That is more than any plan's rate.

How much does a Kling 3.0 clip cost in credits and dollars?

A 10-second Kling 3.0 clip at 1080p with audio costs about 120 credits, which is $1.60 on Standard and $0.74 on Ultra.

The credit rates come from Kling's VIDEO 3.0 guide: 6, 8, 9 and 12 credits per second for 720p silent, 1080p silent, 720p audio and 1080p audio. Native 4K is 30 credits per second in Kling's credit guide. The dollar columns are our arithmetic from the plan table.

Setting (Kling 3.0) Credits/s 5 s credits 10 s credits 10 s on Standard ($0.0133) 10 s on Ultra ($0.0062) 10 s at top-up rate ($0.0152)
720p, silent 6 30 60 $0.80 $0.37 $0.91
1080p, silent 8 40 80 $1.07 $0.49 $1.21
720p, native audio 9 45 90 $1.20 $0.55 $1.36
1080p, native audio 12 60 120 $1.60 $0.74 $1.82
Native 4K 30 150 300 $4.00 $1.85 $4.55

Kling gives one 4K rate, so the 4K row covers audio and silent alike. Rounded to the cent. A 5-second clip costs half of each 10-second figure.

One check on these rates: Kling's plan page says 660 credits make 33 videos at 720p, which is 20 credits per video. That is less than the 30 credits a 5-second 720p silent clip costs. Kling does not state the duration or model behind its count, so budget from the credit rates above and the number in the generation panel.

Is Kling's Standard or Pro mode priced differently?

On Runway, yes. Runway's API sells Kling 3.0 as separate Standard, Pro and 4K models at $0.01 per credit. Its page lists these rates as of 26 October 2026.

Kling 3.0 on Runway Credits/s 5 s 10 s
Standard, silent 9 $0.45 $0.90
Standard, audio 13 $0.65 $1.30
Pro, silent 12 $0.60 $1.20
Pro, audio 17 $0.85 $1.70
4K, either 43 $2.15 $4.30

On Runway, Pro costs about a third more than Standard. Runway's credits and Kling's own credits are different price lists, so don't mix the two tables.

What does Kling 4.0 cost?

Runway lists Kling 4.0 at 15.7 credits per second at 720p and 23.5 at 1080p without an input video, with audio always on. These are Runway's prices, not Kling plan credits.

Runway runs a 20% launch discount through 30 November 2026 UTC, which brings those to 12.56 and 18.8 credits per second. A 10-second clip without an input video is $1.57 at 720p and $2.35 at 1080p at list price, or $1.26 and $1.88 with the discount. Kling 4.0 has no Standard, Pro or 4K tiers on Runway.

With an input video (video-to-video or any reference clip), Runway bills the output seconds plus the greater of the total input seconds and the output seconds. The discounted rate is 7.52 credits per second at 720p and 11.28 at 1080p; the list rate is 9.4 and 14.1.

Does Kling AI charge for failed generations?

Kling's credits policy says credits are deducted when you start a generation and refunded if the generation fails.

Several third-party pricing guides say the opposite. The policy page has no date, so check your balance after a failed job. Two things to know. A clip that completes but has a bad hand, a drifting face or the wrong motion is not a failure, and nothing in the policy returns those credits. And the Terms of Paid Service, effective 10 October 2026, say paid fees are non-refundable, so a failed job is a credit return, not a money refund.

So the retry cost that matters is the cost of completed clips you throw away.

What does a usable Kling clip cost after retries?

Cost per usable clip is the cost of one attempt divided by the share of attempts you keep.

Your keep rate depends on your prompts and references, so measure it on five clips before you budget. The table shows the arithmetic for a 10-second, 1080p, native-audio clip at 120 credits per attempt.

Keep rate Attempts per keeper Credits Standard ($0.0133) Ultra ($0.0062)
1 in 1 1 120 $1.60 $0.74
7 in 10 (CloudZero's assumption) 1.43 171 $2.29 $1.05
1 in 2 2 240 $3.20 $1.48
1 in 3 3 360 $4.80 $2.22
1 in 5 5 600 $8.00 $3.69

The 7 in 10 figure is an illustration in CloudZero's guide, not a measurement. The same sum shows how far a plan goes. At 1 in 3, Standard's 660 credits yield about 1.8 usable clips of this kind, Pro's 3,000 about 8, and Ultra's 26,000 about 72.

Silent 720p clips are far cheaper to throw away. A 10-second 720p silent attempt is 60 credits, so Standard's 660 credits buy 11 attempts. A practical order is to draft at 720p without audio, then render the keeper at final settings. Run one keeper at both settings first to confirm your prompt behaves the same.

Which Kling AI plan should you pick?

Pick Standard if you need fewer than about 2 finished 10-second 1080p audio clips a month at a 1 in 3 keep rate. Move up when you run out of credits.

Credits expire one month after issue on subscription plans and do not roll over, according to Kling's policy. Purchased top-up credits last two years. Credits with the shortest validity are spent first. Free login credits reset at 24:00 each day; the policy gives no amount, and the two guides report about 66 a day.

A rough guide, using the 1 in 3 keep rate and 120-credit attempts:

  1. Under 2 usable 1080p audio clips a month: Standard.
  2. Up to about 8: Pro, at $32.56.
  3. Above that: compare Premier and Ultra. Ultra has the lowest cost per credit by a wide margin, if you will spend 26,000 credits before they expire.

Subscriptions renew automatically once enabled. Cancel before the billing cycle ends: the terms warn that cancelling within one day of the end may not stop a renewal already being processed.

Kling or another tool for the same clip?

Compare on cost per usable clip, not on plan price, because every tool charges differently. Credit rates, audio surcharges and retries all move the result.

Kling's own app and a reseller's API are different price lists for the same model. For model comparisons, see Seedance's clip prices, Sora alternatives and Seedance 2 free options. If you want to copy motion from a reference video, the cost rules for that feature are in the Kling Motion Control guide. More guides are in the Learn hub.

Questions

How much does Kling AI cost per month?

As of 26 October 2026 the paid plans are Standard at $8.80, Pro at $32.56, Premier at $80.96 and Ultra at $159.99 a month on renewal. New subscribers see lower first-month prices of $6.99, $25.99, $64.99 and $127.99. There is also a free Basic plan.

Does Kling AI charge for failed generations?

Kling's credits policy says credits are taken when you start a generation and returned if the generation fails. A clip that finishes but is not what you wanted is not a failure, so you still pay for it. Check your balance after a failed job.

How many credits is a 10-second Kling video?

Kling's VIDEO 3.0 guide sets 6 credits per second for 720p silent and 12 for 1080p with native audio, which is 60 and 120 credits for 10 seconds. The number shown in your generation panel before you press create is the final price.

Is Kling AI cheaper through an API?

It can be, depending on the reseller. Runway's API lists Kling 3.0 Standard at $0.09 per second silent and $0.13 with audio, which is $0.90 and $1.30 for 10 seconds. Compare that with your plan's cost per credit before switching.
