Google Veo 3 pricing: what one clip costs by model and route
Veo 3.1 on Google's cloud platform costs $0.40 per second with audio and $0.20 without for the standard model at 720p or 1080p, so an 8-second clip is $3.20 or $1.60 (Google Cloud pricing). With audio at 720p, Fast starts at $0.10 per second and Lite at $0.05. In Flow, a Quality clip costs 100 credits instead.

Google Veo prices change by route, model and resolution. This page takes the rates Google lists as of 2026-11-05 and turns them into the cost of one finished clip, then into the cost of a month of clips.
How much does Veo 3.1 cost per second on Google's cloud API?
Veo 3.1 on Google Cloud costs $0.03 to $0.60 per second, depending on tier, resolution and whether the clip has audio.
Google lists these rates on its cloud pricing page (checked 2026-11-05). Each price is listed per "1 count". The standard row, $0.40, matches the $0.40 per second Google set for Veo 3, down from $0.75, in its September 2025 pricing post, and Runway bills the same model per second, so the rows below are per second of video.
| Model | Resolution | With audio | Without audio |
|---|---|---|---|
| Veo 3.1 | 720p, 1080p | $0.40 | $0.20 |
| Veo 3.1 | 4K | $0.60 | $0.40 |
| Veo 3.1 Fast | 720p | $0.10 | $0.08 |
| Veo 3.1 Fast | 1080p | $0.12 | $0.10 |
| Veo 3.1 Fast | 4K | $0.30 | $0.25 |
| Veo 3.1 Lite | 720p | $0.05 | $0.03 |
| Veo 3.1 Lite | 1080p | $0.08 | $0.05 |
Veo 3 and Veo 3 Fast appear at the same rates as their 3.1 versions at 720p and 1080p. Veo 2 is listed at $0.50.
How much is one Veo 3 clip?
An 8-second Veo 3.1 clip costs between $0.24 and $4.80 on Google Cloud, depending on tier and settings.
Veo 3.1 generates clips of 4, 6 or 8 seconds, per the Veo 3.1 model page. The sums below multiply the per-second rate by 8.
| Model and settings | Audio | Silent |
|---|---|---|
| Veo 3.1, 720p or 1080p | $3.20 | $1.60 |
| Veo 3.1, 4K | $4.80 | $3.20 |
| Veo 3.1 Fast, 720p | $0.80 | $0.64 |
| Veo 3.1 Fast, 1080p | $0.96 | $0.80 |
| Veo 3.1 Lite, 720p | $0.40 | $0.24 |
| Veo 3.1 Lite, 1080p | $0.64 | $0.40 |
Fast at 720p with audio costs one quarter of standard Veo 3.1 for the same length.
Worked example: a keeper that takes three tries
A Veo 3.1 Fast clip at 720p with audio costs $0.80 for 8 seconds. If one in three generations is a keeper, that keeper costs 3 × $0.80 = $2.40. The same keeper on standard Veo 3.1 at 1080p with audio costs 3 × $3.20 = $9.60. Drafting on Lite or Fast and rendering only the final prompt on the standard model sits between those two numbers.
How much does Veo 3 cost in the Gemini app and Flow?
In Google Flow, one generation costs 10 credits for Veo 3.1 Lite, 20 for Fast and 100 for Quality, and Ultra subscribers pay half for Lite and Fast.
These figures come from Google's Flow credits help page (checked 2026-11-05). Quality clips are 8 seconds. Credits are charged per generation, and one request can produce more than one generation, so a request that returns two videos costs double.
| Plan | Monthly credits (on top of 50 per day) | Veo 3.1 Quality clips (100 each) | Veo 3.1 Fast clips (20 each) |
|---|---|---|---|
| No subscription | none, 50 per day only | 0 | 2 per day |
| Google AI Plus | 200 per month | 2 | 10 |
| Google AI Pro | 1,000 per month | 10 | 50 |
| Google AI Ultra ($100 tier) | 10,000 per month | 100 | 1,000 at 10 credits each |
| Google AI Ultra ($200 tier) | 25,000 per month | 250 | 2,500 at 10 credits each |
Every plan, paid or free, also gets 50 credits a day, which pays for 2 Fast clips (20 credits each) or 5 Lite clips (10 each). Unused daily and monthly credits do not roll over. Ultra $200 (20x) subscribers and family plan managers also get Veo 3.1 Lite (Lower Priority) for 0 credits; Ultra $100 does not.
Google's plan comparison now lists Gemini Omni Flash as the video model for every paid plan, with plan prices set per country.
Gemini Omni Flash is a different model. In Flow it costs 12 credits for an 8-second 720p clip.
Worked example: one month of clips, Flow Pro against the cloud API
On Flow Pro, the 1,000 monthly credits buy 10 Quality clips and the 50 daily credits buy 2 Fast clips a day, about 60 in a 30-day month. Producing the same 10 Quality and 60 Fast clips on Google Cloud costs 10 × $3.20 (1080p, audio) + 60 × $0.80 (720p, audio) = $80. Flow wins on volume you will actually use each day, because daily credits expire. The cloud API wins when you need a specific count on a specific day.
How does the Gemini API price Veo now?
The Gemini API pricing page lists no Veo rates, and its Veo 3.1 preview models shut down on 22 October 2026.
Google's video docs say the preview models veo-3.1-generate-preview, veo-3.1-fast-generate-preview and veo-3.1-lite-generate-preview shut down on 22 October 2026. Google suggests Gemini Omni Flash (gemini-omni-1.1-flash) or the generally available Veo models on its enterprise agent platform.
Omni Flash is billed in tokens. The Gemini API pricing page lists $17.50 per million video output tokens and 5,792 tokens per second of 720p video. That is 5,792 × $17.50 ÷ 1,000,000, about $0.10 per second, or roughly $0.81 for 8 seconds at 720p. Google's cloud table gives Omni Flash 8,688 tokens per second at 1080p, which is about $0.15 per second. Omni Flash output includes audio.
The Veo 3.1 model IDs that remain are the cloud ones: veo-3.1-generate-001, veo-3.1-fast-generate-001 and veo-3.1-lite-generate-001. Standard and Fast are generally available. Lite is listed as Preview.
What does Veo 3.1 cost through resellers?
Runway's API lists Veo 3.1 at $0.40 per second with audio, the same as Google, and Fast at a higher rate.
Runway's API pricing uses credits at $0.01 each (checked 2026-11-05).
| Veo 3.1 variant on Runway | Credits per second | Per second | 8-second clip |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard, audio | 40 | $0.40 | $3.20 |
| Standard, no audio | 20 | $0.20 | $1.60 |
| Fast, audio | 15 | $0.15 | $1.20 |
| Fast, no audio | 10 | $0.10 | $0.80 |
Fast with audio is $0.15 on Runway against $0.10 on Google Cloud at 720p. Runway sets its own API rates, and its credit system is priced separately. Consumer apps that bundle Veo add their own plans and limits, so compare them against the per-clip numbers above.
When did Veo prices and endpoints change?
Google has retired several Veo endpoints since 2025, and the latest cut-off was 22 October 2026.
This tracker uses Google's Gemini API changelog, the video docs and the cloud model page. Dates are as Google states them.

| 2025-10-15 | Veo 3.1 and 3.1 Fast released in public preview. |
| 2025-11-12 | veo-3.0-generate-preview and veo-3.0-fast-generate-preview shut down. |
| 2025-11-17 | Veo 3.1 and 3.1 Fast generally available on Google Cloud. |
| 2026-01-13 | 4K output added for Veo in the Gemini API. |
| 2026-03-31 | Veo 3.1 Lite preview launched in the Gemini API. |

| 2026-10-22 | Veo 3.1, Fast and Lite preview models shut down in the Gemini API. |
Older blog prices for Veo often come from these retired endpoints.
How to pick the cheapest Veo route
For occasional clips the cheapest Veo is Flow's free daily allowance. For paid generation, Veo 3.1 Lite has the lowest cloud rate, so draft there and render only finals on Fast or standard.
- Start with Flow's free 50 daily credits. Draft on Lite or Fast at 720p; on the cloud API, Lite with audio is $0.40 per 8-second clip.
- Turn audio off if you will add your own sound. The standard model halves in price.
- Use 1080p or 4K only for the final take. 4K standard with audio is $4.80 per 8-second clip.
- Count retries before you choose a plan. In Flow, a Pro plan covers 10 Quality clips a month, or 50 Fast clips, plus the 50 daily credits.
- Use the AI video cost calculator to compare Veo with other models, or read the Veo 3 vs Sora 2 comparison.
For other models, see Seedance pricing and Kling AI pricing. The full list is in the Learn hub.
What the prices leave out
Prices on this page cover generation. Tax, subscription fees, upscaling and failed takes come on top.
- The cloud model page lists Content Credentials (C2PA) support for all three Veo 3.1 models.
- Google says prices and limits "are subject to change at any time" on the Flow help page. Rates here are as of 2026-11-05.
What changed
- 2026-11-05: Google limited free Lower Priority Veo 3.1 Lite in Flow to Ultra $200 (20x) subscribers and family plan managers; Ultra $100 no longer gets it.
- 2026-11-05: Corrected the Veo 3 price history: $0.40 per second was a September 2025 cut from $0.75, not the launch price.
Questions
Do I have to pay for Google Veo 3?
Flow is the free route: every account, subscribed or not, gets 50 credits a day, and unused credits do not roll over. A Quality clip costs 100 credits, so the free allowance covers 2 Fast clips (20 credits each) or 5 Lite clips (10 each) a day. Veo's Gemini API preview endpoints shut down on 22 October 2026, and cloud Veo is billed per clip.
Why is Veo so expensive?
The standard model charges $0.40 for each second of video with sound, which makes one 8-second clip $3.20 before any retry. Google sells cheaper tiers for the same family: Fast from $0.10 per second and Lite from $0.05 with audio at 720p. Silent output and 720p cut the bill further.
Is Veo 3.1 cheaper without audio?
Yes. On Google's cloud pricing table the standard model drops from $0.40 to $0.20 per second without audio. Fast drops from $0.10 to $0.08 at 720p, and Lite from $0.05 to $0.03.
Can I still use the Veo 3.1 preview model IDs?
No. Google's docs say the Gemini API preview models veo-3.1-generate-preview, veo-3.1-fast-generate-preview and veo-3.1-lite-generate-preview shut down on 22 October 2026. Google points to Gemini Omni Flash or the generally available Veo models on its enterprise agent platform.
What does a Veo 3 clip cost on a reseller like Runway?
On Runway's API, Veo 3.1 costs 40 credits per second with audio, which is $0.40 at $0.01 per credit. Veo 3.1 Fast costs 15 credits per second with audio, which is $0.15, higher than Google's own $0.10 at 720p.
